I added a new little feature on our contact page. Now you can quickly check to see if we are available on your wedding date. Just enter your wedding date in this format, DD/MM/YY and the page will tell you if we are available or not. For example, if you enter 03/17/10 for March, 17th, you will see we are booked.

I learned a lot about the wedding industry last year and have really made a lot of changes to my business. In the last four years I’ve been shooting weddings, I’ve learned what brides really appreciate and what is not really necessary. When I first started shooting weddings I had a price list a mile long with a lot of weird & complicated prices & packages. Over the years that price list has gotten a lot easier to understand and is more in tune with what couples really need for wedding photography & products. And what I find works the best is to create a customized package for each client, specific to their needs.
Working long hours is hopefully a thing of the past. When I worked in the corporate world, I would work the normal 8-5 and “shut off” at the end of the day. When I started shooting full-time I would work non-stop until the work is done. Well, it’s one of my new years resolutions to get back to a somewhat normal working schedule. As of now, I’m trying out a 10am – 7pm schedule. This allows me to sleep in, (which I love to do) but also let’s me schedule meetings in the early evening when most people get off of work. So far it’s been working well and I hope to keep this schedule.
I’ve done a great job at keeping a low profile in the industry. The hard work I’ve been putting in over the last year has really been grabbing the attention of some of the movers & shakers in the wedding industry. I am looking forward to this year and contributing back to the industry more than ever before.
Blogging. Blogging has always been a chore for me. It’s not that I don’t like writing or sharing my ideas. It’s just that I spend so much of my time invested in my clients work and ensuring everyone has a positive experience, I tend to neglect my blog. No more. Stayed tuned for a lot of interesting content this year. It’s going to be awesome!

The 2010 spring months are booking up and I couldn’t be more excited to be working with some great couples. This year I’ll have photographed over 30 weddings, plus many more events & portrait sessions. I even had the opportunity to photography President Bush! I’m looking forward to the great events next year and all of the fantastic images I will capture for my clients. A few of my favorites from this year have been shooting a wedding in Austin, a great outdoor reception in a old barn in Mesquite, and shooting a 3-day Ismaili wedding in Houston.
A couple of my favorite shots were these two from Adrienne & Brian’s wedding at the Omni Mandalay Hotel in Las Colinas. They had a gondola ride exit and I was able to create some nice artistic shots using a flash I had aboard the gondola.

Every year I try to take a trip someone new. This year it was southern France. These photos are from my trip there.
The Villa we stayed at in Grasse. It was a great location sitting slightly above the center of town. We could still easily walk to anywhere within Grasse.

This photo is from an indian wedding I shot with Luke Edmonson. It’s always nice to pull the couple away from the reception for a few minutes and capture some intimate portraits for them. It also allows the couple to breath a little before heading back to the reception.

I got my hair cut today. I could have put it off another week or two but it seems like a good time to stop in and see my friend Austin Finley at Tony & Guy.
